Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. It is a privilege to be part of such a wonderful school community. The entire staff is prepared to continue to provide the best education possible for each and every child in our school community.
Communication is key and you will continue to receive a folder full of information each Tuesday. Please check your child’s book bag! All students are expected to wear their uniform each day. Students should wear navy blue or khaki (tan) bottoms (i.e. skirts, jumpers, pants) and dark blue or white shirts with a collar (golf/polo shirts) and sneakers. ‘Hoodies’ (sweatshirts with hoods) are not allowed to be worn in the classroom. On gym days, students should wear the Hancock Tee Shirt with sweat pants or shorts. Navy blue sweaters or sweatshirts are appropriate for colder weather. Please remember that only students in uniform will be permitted to go on trips.
I ask that parents support the educational process by making sure each child practices sound living habits like a regular bedtime, healthy meals, a quiet place to do homework, and encouragement to practice good citizenship. Behavior that is appropriate for play is not always appropriate for school. The goal will be to stress good manners and the “golden rule.” I will be working very hard to eliminate “rough play” and “bullying.” Please review these ideas with your children and support the staff in creating a safe and warm environment for all students. Working together, we can insure your child’s success.
Please keep the school calendar for easy reference and look for our monthly updates and additional announcements in your weekly family folder every Tuesday. Please feel free to contact the office if you have any questions.
